Description
17-4PH is a martensitic precipitation hardening stainless steel, containing copper and niobium/columbium. It offers exceptional strength, hardness, and corrosion resistance, making it suitable for a wide range of applications. 17-4PH stainless steel exhibits a hardness of 30 to 45 HRC, with a tensile strength ≥ 1100 MPa, a yield strength ≥ 1000 MPa, and an elongation ≥ 10%. Its unique chemical makeup primarily consists of chromium (Cr: 15.0 - 17.5%), nickel (Ni: 3.0 - 5.0%), copper (Cu: 3.0 - 5.0%), and carbon (C: below 0.07%). This blend of elements gives 17-4PH with both outstanding corrosion resistance and the ability to develop ultra-high strength and hardness via precipitation hardening. |
