DFM engineering lead of CNC

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for executing Engineering Feasibility reviews of CNC related orders placed by customers (DFM Reviews) to ensure the part 3D models can be properly manufactured in the processes selected as well as ensuring all information on 2D customer drawings are captured and have been quoted correctly.
  • You will use your expertise to develop and implement the applicable sourcing strategy.
  • Once an order is placed, you will be responsible for aiding production in troubleshooting order execution to ensure customer success.
  • You need to attend the large order review from engineering standpoint and follow up the high revenue orders, keeping all these orders running according to the schedule.
  • You must interface directly with machine shops, sheet metal fabrication shops, internal staff members and foreign colleagues, as well as foreign customers.
  • Additionally, you will take on special projects related to expanding the capabilities of our manufacturing partner network, working with OEM equipment makers, and our internal team of experts to improve our core competencies.
  • You will lead the CNC engineering team in DFM, maintain the technical standard and workflow of CNC DFM engineering.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree (or above) in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering or related field required
  • 8+ years’ working experience in engineering and manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years’ experience in manufacturing engineering experience with significant experience with CNC and Sheet Metal.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and inspection/QA practices required. Experience with 3D CAD modeling software is necessary (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Ability to identify design for manufacturing (DFM) issues based on CAD models and drawings. Significant experience with DFM for CNC projects is a plus.
  • Experience working with machine shops, sheet metal fabrication shops and internal members. Able to work with partners in troubleshooting CNC issues and answering partner questions.
  • Ability to work with foreign colleagues and foreign customers. on the fly and solve problems quickly.
  • Exceptional communication skill with excellent English is necessary, able to have video conference with foreign colleagues frequently.
  • Able to work well in a fast-paced start-up environment.
